Hi John

Great site, depression is such a hidden epidemic. I experienced depression most of my life and figured that 'it's just the way I am'.

I definitely know the power of the mind and how it can overcome anything. I'd go along to a Tony Robbins seminar and I'd be the happiest I'd ever been.

What I learnt though (ironically at Anthony Robbins' health & cleansing program, Life Mastery) was that I was exhausting my adrenal glands and was close to adrenal fatigue.

Because of this, I reinforce what you say about getting the body's vitamins, chemicals etc checked. Holidays, fun and hope are also essential.

What I realized is that if I made sure my body was also in sync it would have been a lot less effort (and burning up adrenalin) to keep me feeling good.

hope this is useful :)

Hi Janet!

Thank you for your nice comments. You would be surprised how many famous people have had similar experiences to us.

Did you notice the mini course available at the top right corner of the blog? There you can learn a few things about some of the famous people who also suffered from depression.

I too, want to be alone when I have my dark days so that I can work through them without being a pain to others. Recently, I had a very dark few days and it took a lot of positive thinking and help from friends to get back on top.

Now you have me on my favourite subject. That is the power of the mind and its ability to be used to overcome depression.

Even though a lack of seratonin and vitamin B12 may be associated with depression, I genuinely feel that our minds can work against us and precipitate or aggravate the condition. That is why I believe that we need to control our subconscious mind with proper programming.

There are a lot of people out there who hold themselves up to be experts but I shudder when I read or listen to what they have to say. In fact I have returned some self hypnosis audios because I know that they would have harmed me.

I know that I am not an expert but I do know a fair bit about mental programming techniques and how some things, such as improperly worded affirmations, can actualy cause more harm than good. I shall be discussing this in detail in future posts.

You can rest assured that when I recommend a product, it will be one that I am comfortable with.

Check out the blog from time to time as I intend to post some very interesting subject matter there. The next thing that I intend to post is a list of this subject matter that will probably be added to when the need arises.

Also, if you have a particular subject in mind that you would like to gain more information about please advise me and I shall give that subject preferential treatment.

You may also like to read the introduction to the ebook, "Understanding and Curing Depression" found in the cool links section on the right of the blog. I would welcome your comments.

Bye for now!

Regards, John

I have had many dark days, I now use them to re-energize and not see anyone, just be with my own thoughts and work things through.

Thank you for sharing - it is nice to hear that others have the similar feelings and I am not the only one.
